New names Festival Circolo 2022!

The full programme for Festival Circolo 2022 is revealed. So you will discover a brand-new performance by ACAPA’s sophomores, our in-depth programme, curios, cinema and an old friend returns: the Circle Vault!

ACAPA – Bohema

Ook dit jaar nemen de tweedejaarsstudenten van Tilburgse circusopleiding ACAPA je mee op expeditie over het terrein van Circolo. In their performance Bohema, they set in motion a story, a romance, an adventure. All great things start small, and all performances begin with an artist and a visitor. Come along and be surprised by young talent!

Cirkelgewelf

An old friend for visitors to Festival Circolo 2021 and a new friend for future visitors: the Cirkelgewelf! Two gigantic iron arches, in the middle of the site, serve as play equipment for circus performers. A number of performances are played every day for the inflowing audience.

Circolo Cinema

This year, discover fascinating documentaries in our Festival Circolo mini cinema. On the big screen, you get a behind-the-scenes look at progressive circus creators. The mini cinema is open daily at 4.30pm and 7pm and can be found in the Harmonia tent.

Circolo Curiosa

During Festival Circolo 2022, you will find a colourful collection of attractions, performances and play equipment in the Spoorpark. Big fun for a small price! Discover the surreal show DIEP, swing in the boats or spin around on the mill. Be surprised!

International seminar

On Wednesday 19 October, we kick off with an international seminar at the Fontys Hogeschool van de Kunsten. Theme: individuality of the performer, what do you take into the piste? An inspiring day on identity with keynote speaker Sanae El Kamouni of Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger.

Coffee Conversations

For five days, slurp down a bowl of inspiration at the Circolo Coffee Conversations. Over a cup of coffee, young creators engage in conversation with colleagues about motives, working methods and dramaturgy. Location: Harmonia in Spoorpark Tilburg.

Monday 24 October: Camiel Corneille on Repro Project
Tuesday, 25 October: Emilie Weisse on Be Kind
Thursday 27 October: Piet van Dycke on EXIT
Friday 28 October: Lieven Slabbinck on the Cirkelgewelf
Saturday, October 29: Laurence Felber on Questions to the Endless

After-talks

For extra depth, stick around after a performance for conversations with, among others Wes Peden, Elena Zanzu and Hendrik van Maele. Dates are listed in the programme information of the respective show on the website.
